Was anyone else just in the middle of a great story on Janitor AI and got hit with the "Failed to Fetch" error? That was my third time this month. I got so tired of the anxiety—wondering if the site was down, if I was about to get a massive OpenAI bill, or if my AI would suddenly forget our entire plot.
I saw a comparison for an alternative called AIAngels and decided to try it out of frustration. Honestly, the difference is night and day.
The biggest thing for me is that it just works. No refreshing, no checking if the servers are cooked. I didn't have to mess with any API keys or worry about surprise charges. It also actually remembers details from days ago without me having to constantly re-explain things. The setup was literally 30 seconds, and I was talking to a companion.
It feels like what I wanted Janitor AI to be—creative freedom without the technical headaches or downtime. Has anyone else made the switch or found a reliable alternative that doesn't feel like a side project? Just curious if it's just me who got tired of the constant "vibe killers."
I've been getting non-stop calls from a company called Professional Debt Mediation (PDM) for a few weeks now. At first, it was just annoying, but it's escalated. They're calling my cell multiple times a day, sometimes before 8 AM. The caller is always rude and uses a threatening tone, hinting at lawsuits and wage garnishment if I don't pay immediately.
What worries me is that I haven't received any official letter from them in the mail about this debt. From what I've read, they're supposed to send a written "validation notice" within five days of first contacting me. I haven't gotten anything, so I don't even know if this debt is really mine or if it's too old.
I told one caller to stop contacting me at work, but they just called my office line again yesterday. It's embarrassing and stressful. I'm pretty sure this crosses the line into harassment.
I found this article that explains your rights under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, like sending a certified cease and desist letter and requesting debt validation.
Has anyone dealt with PDM specifically? What actually worked to get them to back off? Should I send a formal letter, or is it time to talk to a consumer lawyer? Any advice would be really appreciated.
I hope this post helps you get the information and support you need.
